A ROSYTH pub which pulled its last pint five years ago has now been demolished.

The Sportsman Bar on Burnside Street closed its doors for good in 2019 with the owners stating the business was "not viable".

Earlier this year, planning permission was granted to tear down the building and replace it with six two-bedroom apartments with en-suite facilities and private residents' parking.

Now, ten months later, the pub has been knocked down, with the site due to be cleared next week.

Morgans, who are marketing the site for offers over £145,000, described it as an "excellent development opportunity" and said the half-acre plot is a generous size.

Fife Council agreed with Scott Adamson, from the City Hotels Group that owns it, that there was "no realistic prospect" of finding someone to take it on and make it successful.

When approving the plans, they said: "It is considered that sufficient evidence has been provided to demonstrate that the existing business is not viable and the existing building could not be re-used for its existing purpose."
