THERE are plans for a major residential development on a large area of open space opposite Fife Leisure Park in Dunfermline.
And locals will get the chance to hear more at a public exhibition in the city on Wednesday October 30.
The number of houses planned are under wraps for now but the proposed site is a huge swathe of green space between Sanderling Way and Pittsburgh Road.
The proposals are being brought forward by Lovell Homes - a subsidiary of the Morgan Sindall Group - and Fife Council which makes it likely the development will be much-needed affordable homes.
The first public exhibition will take place in the Carnegie Conference Centre from 2.30pm to 6.30pm with members of the design team on hand to answer questions and outline the plans.

There will also be information boards and images of the proposed development.
To the north of the site is Halbeath Nursery and the local football pitch, to the south are houses on Fyne Brae, Moy Wynd, Ore Place, Lochy Rise and Fitty Way.
Feedback from the public will help shape the proposals ahead of a full planning application being submitted.
A second public exhibition is set to go ahead at the same venue and times on Wednesday November 27.
A proposal of application notice has been approved by council planners which gives the applicants 12 weeks to consult with the public before they can table a planning application.
