CALLS have been made for the re-routing of an established diversion route for M90 closures, following noise complaints by residents.
The M90 was closed for three nights from Monday, October 14 to allow for road surface repairs and improvements between Junction 2 and Junction 2 Southbound Off Slip in Dunfermline.
Throughout the works, a diversion was established which re-routed drivers via Sandpiper Drive, Lapwing Drive, St Margarets Roundabout, Pitreavie Roundabout, Kings Road and the A985.
The road closure was in place from 8pm to 6am on affected nights, but residents along the diversion route have now insisted that this caused unnecessary noise pollution along their streets.

Appeals were made to James Calder, Scottish Liberal Democrat councillor for Dunfermline South, who called on BEAR Scotland to establish an alternative route.
He said: “Residents are rightly angry that they are being kept up at night due to loud vehicles using this diversionary route.
“There are alternative routes available locally that do not pass by as many residential properties in close proximity.
“I have written to Fife Council Transportation Department to ask them to consider looking at alternatives.
“It is important that we keep disruption at a minimum to local residents so they can enjoy some peace and quiet at their homes.”
Residents had complained to Mr Calder that loud vehicles, including lorries, were being rediverted through their residential areas through the night.
The roadworks finished up on Thursday, October 16, with the road M90 reopening under normal conditions from that morning.
However, more works have been announced for this week, which will see vehicles rerouted along the same diversion through the night of Wednesday, October 30.
