THE PRESIDENT of Dunfermline Art Club is preparing to open their Winter Exhibition.
The exhibition will open on Friday, November 8 at 10am and will be opened by Helen Rowbotham.
The club’s gallery in the Kingsgate Shopping Centre will be open from 10am until 4pm from November 8 to 16, excluding Sunday.
Work on show includes framed and unframed paintings, prints, cards, and crafts.
Visitors will be encouraged to vote for their favourite painting, with the George Aitken Award, a nominal prize, being given to the successful artist.
The club members, who are all local amateur artists, have been preparing new works in a variety of subjects, media, and approaches to give a wide range exhibits.
The club has a dedicated studio in Townhill Community Centre, which hosts regular painting sessions throughout the week.
With the days becoming colder and winter weather approaching it is likely that the regular roaming sketching group will be supplementing the Monday morning studio crew.
Anyone interested in joining is encouraged to come along and try out for a few weeks without obligation.
