A popular cover band is set to perform in Dunfermline, following a surge in demand due to the upcoming Oasis reunion.

“Definitely Oasis” will play the City’s PJ Molloys on February 1 2025.

Livingston’s answer to Liam Gallagher, Brian Mcghee said: “After the announcement our emails and social media just went nuts for about a month.

“I thought that bookings would get quieter, but I couldn’t have been proved more wrong. How it looks next year I’m not quite sure, but right now I’m riding the wave.

“The buzz about the reunion is everywhere, and the the albums are back in the charts. A lot of people didn’t manage to get tickets, but they still want to go and have a great night out singing along to Oasis.

“It’s not just the older lot too, we get a lot of young people coming along who got into the band after the fact.

The band even headlined at the city’s East End Park fan zone during the pre-match build up for Scotland’s opening match of Euro 2024.

Mr Mcghee believes that sky high ticket prices for the reunion have contributed to the surge in demand for cover bands like his.

The controversial system of dynamic pricing used by Ticketmaster caused outrage amongst Oasis fans, who waited in line just to find out that the price had skyrocketed due to high demand.

He said: “A lot of people aren’t prepared to pay that amount, especially with the cost of living. I think our tickets are something like 900 per cent cheaper.”

Research by the company Slingo recently showed that Oasis is the group with the second most cover bands, second only to Abba.
