Inverkeithing United has announced their plans to take over the current Inverkeithing High School site when it moves to Rosyth in 2026.
The club announced its intentions on Facebook, revealing plans for a sports hall, gymnasium, and community café.
The Facebook post detailed the club's proposal, stating: "Inverkeithing United Community Football Club have developed a proposal over the last 6 months to try and retain community use facilities 'In The Community For The Community' once Inverkeithing High School is relocated to Rosyth.
"As an accredited Scottish FA and Active Fife community based football club we currently have 100+ adult volunteers, 300+ junior members (boys and girls) aged between 4-16 and 100+ adults who engage in weekly football activities.
"Our home is in the heart of the community at Inverkeithing High School and our home is at risk."
This move comes before the Fife Council November 7 meeting where one of six options for future community use facilities will be presented at a cabinet committee meeting.
The options include very different plans, from refurbishing existing facilities, building brand new facilities on the Inverkeithing site, or new facilities solely at the Rosyth site.
The club, in partnership with Andrew Allan Architecture Ltd, has drawn up initial plans for the site, which include a synthetic 3G sports pitch, floodlights, changing rooms, toilets, a community café and kitchen, a multi-use sports hall, and a gymnasium.
The club aims to make the facility beneficial to the entire community and seeks input from locals and community groups who may want to use the facility.
They also wish to engage with current service users at Inverkeithing Community Use who may be displaced once the school closes and moves to Rosyth.
Various community consultations are planned over the coming weeks to shape the proposed facility for the benefit of Inverkeithing and the wider community.
The club has previously expressed a desire to take over the space since it was confirmed last September that the school would move to Rosyth.
Back in March, the club indicated they didn't want to use any of the new school's facilities as they wish to remain within the Inverkeithing community.
