A Rosyth company has proposed a major building extension and the creation of additional car park spaces.
Axon Cable Ltd, located at Admiralty Park, Rosyth, submitted plans for the expansion of its existing building along with the addition of a car park.
The application was officially registered on October 28, with a decision expected by December 28.
The deadline for public comments is November 29.
The company has outlined the reasons for this proposed development, stating: "Axon Cable Ltd has consistently demonstrated significant growth since its inception in 1988, when it started with just one person working independently.
"Today, the company has developed into a thriving enterprise with a £16million turnover.
"Employing 56 people, providing excellent long-term career opportunities in Fife and surrounding areas.
"Approximately 25 of these employees are directly involved in production and inspection of high specification cable harnesses, reflecting the company's strong manufacturing capabilities."
The company, which moved to its Rosyth facility in 2010, has been expanding due to 'increasing demand' in the military aerospace and space sectors.
This has led to a need for more production facilities to keep up with demand and maintain its competitive edge.
The company is predicting a 'sustained' growth rate of 5 to 10 per cent per year in both turnover and workforce in Fife in the future.
The planned two-storey extension will serve as additional production and storage space on the ground floor, with additional meeting and conference space on the first floor.
Internal alterations are also planned to reconfigure the existing layout.
Currently, the building is heated using Air Source Heat pump technology, which will be upgraded to serve the additional floor space.
The company also plans to install solar panels on the roof of the south-facing elevation.
Additional car parking spaces that are being proposed are built with visitors for the facility in mind,
The company highlighted in its statement the importance of this expansion for its future growth, stating: "The proposed expansion of the facility in Fife will ensure that Axon Cable Ltd can continue to innovate, grow, and maintain its leadership in the cable harness industry, securing its role as a key supplier to the UK and Irish markets."
