A Rosyth man choked his partner after grabbing him by the neck.
Paul Mason, 34, of Mellor Court, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on October 23, at his home, he assaulted the man by striking him on the face, seized him by the neck and compressed it to his injury, a domestically aggravated offence.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said Mason had been drinking all day and became confrontational, making accusations to his partner.
He slapped him to the face then grabbed him by the throat and began choking him.
Police were called and officers arrived to find redness on the victim’s neck where he had been choked.
The court heard that Mason is already on a structured deferred sentence for another offence.
Sheriff Susan Duff told Mason she took “a very serious view” of such assaults involving choking and deferred sentencing until January 22.
She told him: “You’ve got 12 weeks to sort yourself out.”
