The Fife indie-rock band Shambolics will return to Dunfermline this winter to play PJ Molloys.

It comes as the group return from a successful UK-wide tour. Frontman Darren Forbes said: “We’ve just came back off tour and we’re already planning the next time.

“We’ve almost literally been everywhere in the UK, touching every corner of England and Wales. It was amazing, and every gig was pretty much rammed.

“I’d say Birmingham was the biggest surprise. The first gig we played there was pretty quiet, but this time was like a PJs gig with the young team causing chaos in the mosh pit.”

PJs was the location of the band’s first ever gig, and later their first sell out.

Mr Forbes said: “It’s some buzz there. We live all over Scotland but we’re all from Fife, so it makes sense at Christmas time to come back home for a get together with pals.

“We’ll get just as mad as the crowd to be honest.

“We’re from Kirkcaldy but Dunfermline’s where the music scene is in Fife. I used to run a studio right next to PJs, so I basically lived there. It’s a place where I’ve seen some great gigs and made great memories.”

Discussing the band’s future plans, he said: “The problem we’ve had in the past is that we’ve gained a bit of a buzz about us, then we’ve went quiet to try and write stuff. This time we’re just getting straight back to it.

"We’re really going for its full throttle now and there’s going to be some good announcements soon. It’s definitely the busiest we’ll ever have been.”
