A YOUNG child had to go to Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline after being bitten by a dog on school grounds.
It happened yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon at 3pm, just as pupils were coming out of the classroom to be picked up by parents and guardians at Bellyeoman Primary School.
The incident happened just hours after a plea to keep dogs out of the school grounds.

A letter from Bellyeoman to parents and guardians said: "We are sadly having to report that there was an incident involving a dog injuring a child at 3pm yesterday whilst the dog was in the grounds of the school.
"The child had to attend Minor Injuries for the wound to be cleaned.
"This was on the back of politely asking yesterday morning that no dogs should be in the grounds of the school for the safety of all of our children.
"We are now asking again, that all dogs remain well away from the grounds of the school for the safety of all.
"Many thanks for your cooperation."
