Free bus travel is on offer for Dunfermline residents every Sunday in December before Christmas.
The City of Dunfermline area committee has allocated £18,000 from the devolved parking initiatives budget to provide free travel December 1, 8, 15, and 22.
This initiative aims to boost city-centre visits for Christmas shopping and socialising, and promote sustainable travel.
Councillor James Calder, City of Dunfermline convener, said: "Offering free bus travel on these key dates leading up to Christmas will help businesses, as it encourages people to use our local shops, cafés and restaurants.
"Free bus travel makes sure those who don't have cars or drive also benefit and it encourages more people to take environmentally friendly travel in Dunfermline."
The free bus travel on the specified December dates will cover journeys on Stagecoach and Bay Travel services within the Dunfermline zone.
This includes bus routes 1/1A, 2/2A, 4B/4C, 5, 6A, 7/7A/7D, 8A, 19, 31A, 33/33A, 83, 747, X22, X24, X24A, X27, X51, and X55.
Journeys beyond the Dunfermline zone will not be included in the free travel initiative, and concessionary bus passes will remain operational as normal.
