A new art exhibition has opened at a community gallery in a Fife hospital.

'Rhythm of the Seasons' is a collection of artworks by contemporary Scottish artist Pauline McGee and can be viewed in the community gallery at Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline.

The exhibition will run from November 2024 to March 2025 and is inspired by the artist’s observations of seasonal changes and their impact on the local environment.

Ms McGee is very familiar with Fife having lived in the Kingdom before settling in rural Perthshire.

The collection of paintings on display at Queen Margaret Hospital feature places that have inspired her work and remain dear to her heart, like Pittencrieff Park and the Rumbling Bridge in Crook of Devon.

The project was funded by Fife Health Charity with the purpose of helping enhance the hospital environment for patients, staff and visitors.

The gallery opened last year with the successful ‘Old Dunfermline’ exhibition and another by the Dunfermline Photographic Association, whose members provided a curated selection of images from across Fife.

Mark McGeachie, director of Fife Health Charity, said: "We are delighted to see the ‘Rhythm of the Seasons’ collection featured in our community gallery.

"The exhibit is a very welcome addition to Queen Margaret Hospital, and particularly so as we move from autumn into winter.

"Fife Health Charity plays an important role in helping to enhance the physical environment in the Kingdom’s hospitals and health centres.

"The charity is responsible for managing NHS Fife’s extensive art collection, which has been gifted over many years and helps create a more homely and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors alike.

"Our community gallery is an extension of these efforts, and we thank Pauline for allowing us to display her inspiring works at Queen Margaret Hospital."
