COMMUNITIES across West Fife gathered at war memorials across the region to remember the fallen on Remembrance Sunday.

Members of the Armed Forces joined dignitaries and members of the public for the annual service.

At Dunfermline Abbey, there was a service at the war memorial followed by a service inside the church.

The Abbey church will provide a focal point for tributes until Saturday with its annual display of knitted poppies.

In North Queensferry, there was a service at the war memorial in the lower village while a service followed by an act of remembrance at the war memorial was held at Cairneyhill Parish Church.

The 62nd Fife Scout Group led Crossford's Remembrance Sunday parade from their scout hall to the war memorial and back while in Inverkeithing, the Royal Naval Association's Rosyth and West Fife branch ran the event which began with a parade from the Inverkeithing Community Centre and included a ceremony at the town's Garden of Remembrance.

There was a parade in Kelty from the village's Ex-Serviceman’s Club before the war memorial service and in Kincardine, the gala committee led the remembrance event.

The Limekilns community gathered at the parish church before proceeding to the promenade and the Limekilns and Charlestown War Memorial while a service was also held in Townhill at the war memorial on Main Street.
