KIND HEARTED local businesses have teamed up with the Dunfermline Press and Central Fife Times to offer their support to this year's Christmas Toy Appeal.

Generous sponsors CR Smith, Campion Homes and Rearo are helping to ensure that every child gets a present this Christmas.

In the past, the people of West and Central Fife have never been afraid to show their generosity when helping those in need with our Christmas appeals.

Our campaign last year was hugely successful and we are asking readers to once again donate what they can to our toy appeal and help ensure no child in West and Central Fife goes without a gift this Christmas.

Susan Jackson, Joint Managing Director at Campion Homes, was pleased to provide backing for the campaign.

"It is the first time we have been involved," she said. "Every year we do a charity initiative, we call it the 12 days of giving, where we look to support charities in all the local areas where we are developing.

"We will be supporting a number of charities across our region and we also look for one local charity that our head office can support.

"We are going to ensure that the sites will be contributing as well and bags will go out to the sites as well. We are really pleased to support the work the Dunfermline Press does and it is great to get behind it."

Rearo, who have had a base in Rosyth, have also stepped in for the first time to get behind the appeal.

Managing director Graham Mercer said: "We have had a branch in Rosyth for 40 odd years. We have sponsored a homeless charity in Rwanda for many years and we are looking to do a more things locally.

"We are keen to get involved in the local community and nationwide, we are looking at doing this for all the branches in the company.

"With our office being in Rosyth, this was an ideal one for us. The appeal is a fantastic way to help people in the local community."

CR Smith's Director of Operations, Kevin Eadie, added: “CR Smith has been a supporter of the Dunfermline Press Toy Appeal for a number of years, and we are delighted to do so again this Christmas.

"We understand that the festive period can be a challenging time for many families in our local community

"In previous years our staff across CR Smith, FIX and Manufacturing have shown great generosity by donating toys and gifts and this year we are all proud to help spread some Christmas cheer to families across the region again."
