A Dunfermline band is set to perform at a marathon music gig which will see groups come together to play every Beatles song in one day.

The show will take place on November 30 at Portobello Town Hall, aiming to raise funds for the My Name’s Doddie Foundation, which supports research into Motor neuron disease (MND.)

The Dunfermline group Mountain People were asked to come back after a successful appearance at last year’s gig, which raised over £10,000 for the cause.

Singer Scott Moir said: “Last time we were kind of filling in at the last minute, but we’re doing a full album this time.

“It’s the whole of Sgt Pepper, plus the three singles that the Beatles released with the Anthology.

“The band’s been around in its current form for about three years, but two of them were just us mucking around playing Lemonheads. The first time I ever sang live was actually at the gig last year.

“Most of us are in our 50s, so we grew up inspired by the Beatles.”

The marathon was founded by brothers Stuart and Scott McGachan, inspired by the journey of their father Pat, who struggled with MND.

But Pat sadly passed away a matter of weeks before the 2023 show, making it a poignant and emotional affair.
