Nearly 30,000 Christmas cards are set to be delivered by Scouts in West Fife.

The annual Scout Post event, a major fundraising initiative, sees Scouts from across the region collect, sort, and deliver the cards.

Each card costs 50p, with all proceeds going towards helping young people develop life skills through the Scouts.

The event is organised by the 39th Fife and 2nd Fife Scout groups, covering Dunfermline and surrounding villages.

Fiona McCreadie, a volunteer with the 39th Fife Scouts, said: "It's a huge organisational feat to collect, sort, and deliver 30,000 Christmas cards, and all this hard work is done by our amazing young people and volunteers.

"We are hoping that this year will be bigger than ever and we are indebted to the shops and people who host our collection points."

Cards and money can be handed into participating shops until Wednesday, December 11, at 5pm.

These include Scotmid on Baldridge Road, Mr Ali Convenience Store on Rumblingwell, Day-Today on Pilmuir Street, and Spar on Pittsburgh Road within Dunfermline.

Co-op's on Robertson Road, Townhill Road and Linburn Road are also participating.

Matalan, Morrisons on Allan Crescent and Woodmill Road, and Lochview Cattery in Kingseat are also collection points.

Cards can also be handed into the 39th and 2nd Fife Scout halls in the evenings from Monday, December 9, until Wednesday, December 11, before 7.30pm.

However, any cards handed into the halls outside of this time will not be delivered.

The areas covered by the Scout Post include Aberdour, Cairneyhill, Cowdenbeath, Crossford, Dalgety Bay, Dunfermline, Glenrothes, Inverkeithing, Kelty, Kincardine, Kingseat, Lochgelly, Methil, Rosyth, and many more towns and villages around the region.
