A ROSYTH man has been arrested in connection with firearm offences following a "raid" early this morning.

Police Scotland notified the public that they would be carrying out a pre-planned operation on Hudson Road in Rosyth- but according to one witness, they could have been there from as early as 4am.

Now, the authority has revealed that a 31-year-old man was arrested in connection with firearm offences.

In a post on Facebook, Police Scotland Fife wrote: "Officers were in attendance at a property on Hudson Road in Rosyth, today, Thursday, November 21, 2024 as part of a pre-planned operation.

Fife Police also reassured the public that there was no risk to the wider public.

Earlier this morning, nearby St John's Primary parents were informed of the operation, teachers escorted pupils inside and break time was held indoors so that the children were kept away from the armed officers that were on the scene.

Inspector Cheryl Young added: "We would like to thank the public for their patience whilst our officers carried out enquiries.

"Officers remain in the area and I would urge anyone with concerns, or who may have information which could assist the investigation, to approach our officers who will be happy to assist.”

Alternatively, those with information can contact the Police by calling 101 and quoting reference 3202 of 20 November.
