A Dunfermline car dealership has been named as Scotland’s car dealership of the year for 2024.
Violet Autos picked up the Prestige Scotland award for its work in the city’s Rumblingwell area.
Director Adrian Cierpikowski said: “I didn’t expect it, but it’s always nice when your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.
“I don’t want to treat my customers as just numbers, and I think that separates me from some bigger dealerships. It’s really going from strength to strength.
“It’s all about building that trust. Buying a car is probably the biggest spend you’re going to make other than a new house. That’s a big decision for most people, whether it’s a three grand car or a 30 grand one.
“Car dealers in general can get a bad reputation, and I’m trying to change that with what I do. So far, I think it’s been successful.”
Discussing running the business, he said: “I’m quite a one-man band, my wife helps me with stuff but I’m mostly the heart of the operation. That means that I can provide more of a personal service, and I always want to build a good rapport with customers who buy the cars from me.”
Originally from Poland, Mr Cierpikowski moved to Dunfermline just after the covid lockdown was lifted. He said: “I was living in Edinburgh on and off since 2003, and I wouldn’t have considered moving anywhere but there.
“Then we started looking for a house in lockdown. I had hardly been to Dunfermline, but one thing led to another, and the rest is history.
“Once I moved to Fife, I found out how warm and friendly people are. I’ve really found my place here and I’m a Fifer for life now.”
