THREE weeks of resurfacing works on a busy route in Dalgety Bay will get underway from next Monday.

St David's roundabout is one of the last carriageway resurfacing schemes in the area roads programme for 2024-25 that is still to be done.

Signage and cones have now been put up on the approach to the roundabout, which connects Harbour Drive and St David's Drive, ahead of work taking place.

Fife Council have confirmed that £57,599 worth of works are set to start.

A spokesperson said: "Work is due to start on December 2, as per the signs.

"We're resurfacing the carriageway between the A921 and the roundabout, starting on December 2, and then the roundabout itself from December 9."

When that's finished there will still be work to be done on the adjacent Letham Hill roundabout, which is next to the Dalgety Bay Sports Centre.

Resurfacing works there will cost just over £80,000.

Local councillor, Dave Dempsey had previously argued: "I struggle with approving a programme that puts these two roundabouts in Dalgety Bay that no-one complains about and to my mind are not in bad nick, ahead of Moray Way that everyone complains about and is clearly in need of attention."

However, Vicki Storrar, lead consultant in roads, lighting and asset management at the council, replied: "Roundabouts are actually high stressed areas in comparison to straight roads and the two on the list have significant structural failures.

"These two roundabouts do need to get done ... and will deteriorate very quickly if they're not."
