A Dunfermline man was caught with more than 400 hours of child abuse videos.
Paul Greechan, 36, of Law Road, appeared in the dock at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court and admitted his huge hoard of vile content, collected over a period of almost 15 years.
He admitted that between November 16, 2009 and March 6 this year, he downloaded indecent images of children.
Also, that between the same dates he was in possession of indecent images of children.
Depute fiscal Sarah Smith said a search warrant was executed by police at 8.35am and devices were seized.
Greechan was arrested and when interviewed he “spoke freely” and admitted he had an interest in looking at sexual images of children.
On the various devices, there were videos with a total running time of 454 hours.
Sheriff John MacRitchie said he was dealing with images and videos “in the high hundreds running into thousands”.
Defence solicitor Elaine Buist said her client lives with his brother and is in full-time employment.
Sheriff MacRitchie called for reports and said that “with considerable hesitation” he would grant bail but warned Greechan “don’t read anything into that”.
Sentencing will take place on January 10, the sheriff granted forfeiture of the devices and Greechan was put on the sex offenders register.
