A Dunfermline woman called the police to her home in the early hours of the morning and kicked an officer.

Michelle Bruce, 27, of Bleachfield Court, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing.

She is also on a ‘tag’ and was put on another one, to start after Christmas.

Bruce admitted that on August 7 at her home, she assaulted a police officer by kicking him on the body.

Depute fiscal Amy Robertson said that at 2.20am police were called to the scene by Bruce, concerned about an incident with a neighbour.

Officers found her intoxicated in front of her house and she became aggressive, kicking an officer on the leg.

Defence solicitor Alexander Flett said: “She has a significant issue with alcohol.”

The court heard Bruce is already on a restriction of liberty order which will end just before Christmas.

The court was told Bruce plans to spend Christmas with her family in Dundee.

Sheriff Krista Johnston imposed a new restriction of liberty order for two months, starting on December 28.

She told Bruce: “Keep out of trouble and merry Christmas.”
