WEST FIFE'S representatives in the East of Scotland League have continued their preparations as the new season prepares to kick off next weekend.
Premier Division duo Crossgates Primrose and Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts, and First Division pair, Oakley United and Rosyth, are putting the finishing touches to their build-up ahead of the new campaign starting on July 29.
Alan Campbell's Primrose, who host a young Dunfermline Athletic side in their final warm-up game on Monday, travelled to Lowland League side, University of Stirling, on Saturday before hosting First Division Heriot-Watt University on Tuesday evening.
Although they fell to a 5-1 loss in the first of those matches, with Scott Lawrie scoring their goal, Primrose, after a draw with Easthouses Lily, and loss to Bo'ness United, picked up their first win of pre-season against Heriot-Watt.
Cammy Muirhead's double, and a goal from Craig Henderson, gave them a 3-2 success ahead of their game with the Pars youngsters at Humbug Park, which kicks off at 7.30pm.
Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts took on Greg Shields' Dunfermline academy side on Tuesday, and recorded a 7-1 victory.
Manager Jason Dair, himself a former Athletic player and coach, watched Tommy Simpson score a hat-trick, and Che Reilly, Sean Cummings, Ryan Cowie and Liam Kelly also find the net, in a game that saw 16-year-old Dylan Aldred, who has been with the Swifts for 11 years, make his debut for the senior side.
That came after an impressive 4-1 win at home to Highland League Nairn County on Saturday, in which Cowie grabbed a double, with Reilly and Brodie Strang scoring one each.
The Swifts conclude their pre-season programme at Arthurlie this Saturday.
Oakley United, who have completed the signings of midfielder, Kenny Knox, and defender, Sean Preston, defeated Letham FC 2-1 at Blairwood Park on Saturday, but lost out to Balgonie Scotia AFC 3-0 on Tuesday.
Peter Goldie's side host Newburgh this Saturday in their final warm-up game, whilst Rosyth lost out to Hill of Beath Hawthorn, by a 3-2 scoreline, in their final scheduled friendly on Tuesday evening.
