FAISSAL El Bakhtaoui has been reunited with ex-Pars boss Allan Johnston at Queen of the South.
The move comes just one day before Dunfermline face the Doonhamers at Palmerston in the second Championship game of the season.
The former Pars fan favourite has joined the club on a one-year-deal after his release from Dundee in the summer.
He had previously spent last season on-loan with Dunfermline, making 34 appearances and scoring three goals in all competitions.
Speaking to Queen of the South's official website, Johnston said he was "delighted" to land the striker.
He commented: "It has taken a few weeks but I am delighted to have been able to bring Faissal to the club.
"I had him at Dunfermline so he is a player I know well.
"It was important for us to bring in a forward to help the current strikers out and I think he will fit into our style of play well."
The French-Moroccan forward goes straight into the squad for tomorrow's match between the sides in Dumfries.
