DUNFERMLINE have completed the loan signing of Celtic reserve captain Kerr McInroy for the upcoming campaign.
The 20-year-old midfielder, who grew up in the town, is expected to feature in tonight's closed-doors friendly at Spartans after the move was confirmed this afternoon.
A former season ticket holder at East End, McInroy played for the Blue Brazil in Cowdenbeath until he signed for the Hoops at the age of 12.
He attended Woodmill High School before moving under Celtic's school project to study at St Ninian's High School in Kirkintilloch.
McInroy went on to be given the armband of the Parkhead club's reserve team but, in May last year, suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament that kept him out of action until February.
He has represented Scotland from under-16 level, and has earned 15 under-19 caps, and told Dunfermline's website: "I am looking forward to getting started because I need to come out and get games.
"I spoke to Celtic and they thought that Dunfermline would be the best thing for me. As soon as I heard that Dunfermline were interested in me I knew that this was where I wanted to come and that it would be the right place for me.
"I am local, grew up in Dunfermline and stay just ten minutes away from the ground. I used to come to games here with my Granda when I was younger. I know what Dunfermline is all about as a club. I had a season ticket at one time and came to the games quite a lot.
"I played at Pitreavie from the age of seven or eight with Blue Brazil in Cowdenbeath until I went to Celtic at the age of 12. I played a couple of games and then they signed me and I have been there ever since. I always enjoyed it and signed professional there when I was sixteen.
"I am back fully fit and raring to go. When I came back from injury I felt better than ever."
Boss Stevie Crawford takes his side to Edinburgh for their second pre-season game against the Lowland League side after opening their programme at Stenhousemuir on Saturday, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
