DUNFERMLINE have completed their second loan signing this week after snapping up Lewis Mayo from Rangers.
The 20-year-old, who plays at centre back, has agreed a deal that will keep him at East End for the season and follows the capture of Celtic midfielder Kerr McInroy on Tuesday.
Mayo, who briefly played with Partick Thistle last season before the Coronavirus shutdown, joined the Ibrox club at the age of seven.
A member of the Scotland under-21 squad, and having also been capped at under-17 and under-19 level, he signed a new two-year extension to his Rangers contract at the end of last month.
He has yet to make a senior appearance for Steven Gerrard's side but was part of their 'Colts' side that reached the semi-finals of last season's Challenge Cup.
Speaking to the club's website, Mayo said: "I am delighted to be here, I think that there is a lot to look forward to.
"It has obviously been a difficult situation with everything going on but this is the positive end of it and I am looking forward to what happens.
"I played three games while on loan to Partick before football got shut down. I enjoyed getting that taste of competitive football and playing in the Scottish Championship.
"That was part of the decision on coming back out on loan again this season, I wanted to go and really have a go at it and fight for a place somewhere. I think Dunfermline is the right place for me to do that."
Mayo, who is in the Scotland under-21 squad for next month's UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifiers with the Czech Republic and San Marino, could feature for his new club during tomorrow's pre-season friendly at East Fife.
That match, which kicks off at 2pm, has been designated as a test event for Pars season ticket holders to watch, for free, on Pars TV.
Non-season ticket holders can also view the game for £3 through East Fife TV.
