DUNFERMLINE are waiting on the results of a scan that will provide an indication of the severity of Kyle Benedictus' latest injury.
The Pars captain was due to be assessed yesterday (Tuesday) on a thigh problem suffered in the recent draw with Ayr United.
Benedictus, 32, had been absent since the Fife derby loss at Raith Rovers in late October after injuring his thigh during that game.
He returned as a substitute at Somerset Park but, following that game, he suffered a reoccurrence of the problem.
Speaking to BBC Scotland during Athletic's loss at Queen's Park on Friday, Benedictus said: "I think I've had a reoccurrence of that injury. I think it's a bit higher up, so I'm getting it scanned on Tuesday, and need to take it from there.
"When it happened on Saturday, I felt something. Now, standing here, it has got a lot better, which gives me a bit of confidence going for my scan on Tuesday.
"I'm hoping results are not bad, but I can't do anything until I see what the results are."
Pick up a copy of tomorrow's Press for further injury updates from Pars boss James McPake.
