DUNFERMLINE Carnegie Hockey Club's ladies second and third teams were defeated during another busy weekend of play.
The seconds, sponsored by Production Bureau, went down 2-1 to Edinburgh University seconds, whilst the thirds lost 4-0 at home to Borders Fjordhus Reivers fifth XI.
In the former match, Carnegie conceded an early goal, and had to withstand pressure from some short corners, but worked their way back into the match, equalising in the second half through Zara Webb, who was voted MVP (Most Valuable Player).
Their opponents, however, struck a second goal in the third quarter and, despite applying pressure in the final period, Carnegie couldn't find an equaliser.
It was, unfortunately, a more convincing scoreline against Carnegie's third XI when they entertained Borders Fjordhus Reivers fifth XI.
The visitors gained the first penalty corner of the game, which was stopped on the line and cleared, but, following the awarding of a second, they managed to find the net to open the scoring.
Dunfermline gained territory in the opponents half, but struggled to find a way through a strong Borders defence, who added to their tally in the second half.
Sarah Deighan made several saves in the home goal and, although her side launched counter attacks, they couldn't find a route to goal.
A strike from the top of D, from a short corner, saw the Borders team score a third goal, before they added a fourth to complete their victory.
Dunfermline's MVP was awarded to Jodie Tracey.
Elsewhere, there were wins for the men's thirds, 2-1 against Kinross firsts, and the development team, 9-2 against Eskvale, but the men's fours lost 5-0 to Watsonians sixth XI.
