WEST FIFE hockey star Eve Pearson was involved with Scotland as they took on Spain in a three-match series last week.
The former Dunfermline Carnegie Hockey Club youth player, now with Grossflottbeker THGCC, travelled to Benalmadena for the games.
They were played ahead of a big year for the 'Tartan Hearts', who will play on home turf in vital EuroHockey qualifiers in August, where winning a tournament including Wales, Austria, Croatia, Czechia and Lithuania, in Glasgow, would see them progress to the EuroHockey Championships in 2025.
Eve, who last year was selected for the GB Women's Elite Development squad, and her team-mates were defeated in all three matches that they played.
After losing the opener 5-0, the Scots were then defeated by 3-1 and 2-1 by the world's seventh-ranked team.
Meanwhile, there were contrasting fortunes for Dunfermline Carnegie's men's and women's sides at the weekend.
The men's firsts, sponsored by Edinburgh Asset Finance, were 3-2 winners at University of St Andrews Hockey Club firsts in the Scottish Hockey National League, whilst the seconds were 4-2 winners over Grange thirds.
The ladies seconds lost 4-0 to Western Wildcats seconds, whilst the thirds were beaten 5-0 at Ross High seconds in Tranent.
