ATHLETIC manager James McPake has said he won't look too much into previous meetings as he aims to topple the table toppers tomorrow evening.

Dundee United make the trip to KDM Group East End Park for the final encounter of the clubs this season, which, like their last visit, will be beamed live on BBC Scotland.

The Taysiders are seeking to re-establish their four-point advantage over Raith Rovers, who won on Tuesday night at Partick Thistle, at the Championship summit.

Dunfermline, who were beaten by Rovers in Saturday's Fife derby, know that three points would take them four clear of second bottom Inverness Caledonian Thistle, and up to sixth in a very congested bottom half of the table, ahead of the rest of the weekend card is played on Saturday.

Dunfermline Press:

McPake's men have performed well in their matches with the Tangerines this season and, arguably, could have had more points to show for their efforts.

A 95th-minute Mathew Cudjoe equaliser denied them a win at Tannadice in August, after Craig Wighton had put them ahead, whilst their second league trip there in January ended scoreless.

Last November, a late goal from former Pars loanee, Chris Mochrie, gave United a 2-1 victory in a match that McPake's men were competitive in for long spells.

"It's a TV game, there'll be a good atmosphere. Dundee United will bring a big away crowd and our fans will be noisy if we can get them into the game," the manager told Press Sport.

"The games have been decent between us. There's not been much in any of the three games previously. Obviously, in the SPFL Trust Trophy game (a 3-0 loss at Tannadice in September), when we went up there, we had a lot of injuries at the time and key players missing. We don't look too much into that.

"The games have been good. They're a good side and that's why they're top of the league. It is a big club and they'll be desperate to get as many wins as they can, and quickly, to try and get their place back in the Premiership, where they'll believe that they belong.

"They're coming down this late in the season to try and get a gap between themselves and Raith Rovers that's chasing them, but I'm not going to look too much into the last games against Dundee United because we've got players back that maybe weren't available up at Tannadice. I think it's tough to look into the other games if I'm honest."

Ahead of the match, McPake said that Chris Kane, who has missed Dunfermline's last two outings, will be assessed ahead of the game, and revealed that Sam Fisher will return to the squad, with youngster Andrew Tod also likely to be available.
