FORMER Dunfermline Athletic and East Fife manager Stevie Crawford will be in charge of Cowdenbeath in their closing four Lowland League fixtures.

He takes over from Calum Elliot, who left the Blue Brazil at the beginning of this week to take up the manager's job at Bonnyrigg Rose.

Crawford had been in charge at Rosyth FC this season, until the club folded earlier this year.

He will be assisted by local man and former Hill of Beath Hawthorn boss, Jason Dair.

Cowden secretary, David Allan said late on Tuesday night: “We are very pleased now to be able to confirm that following discussions, Stevie Crawford has agreed to take temporary charge of the team until the end of the season.  

“Stevie, as a local boy of course, is very well known - not least for his fine playing career which saw him win 25 caps for Scotland.  He has also managed both Dunfermline Athletic and East Fife in the SPFL, plus being assistant manager at Dundee United.  

“Assisting Stevie will be his one-time playing colleague at the Pars, Jason Dair, who returns to his hometown club where he previously had a stint as assistant manager, and his former assistant at Rosyth FC, Graeme Nutt.  Our grateful thanks go to all three for their willingness to help out Cowdenbeath FC.”
