AARON WOOD has found a knack of netting on big occasions and was thrilled that his latest helped to provide an "extra special" feeling.
The Swifts star scored his 10th goal of the season to put his side ahead in Sunday's East of Scotland Qualifying Cup final, which Ben Finnan added to as they defeated Dunbar United.
Those efforts sealed a place in the history books for those representing the club as they lifted the senior team's first trophy, in their maiden final, since joining the East of Scotland League set-up in 2018.
Wood, 25, also netted in the semi-final as the Swifts stunned Premier Division leaders Broxburn Athletic, and his well-taken looping header over Dunbar keeper, Sean Brennan, set them on their way to glory in the showpiece at Newtongrange Star's New Victoria Park.

"I was very pleased with that," he commented.
"I've scored a header in another final before so it was good to get another one. I'm happy with myself with that, being quite small, so it's good!
"I just tried to flick it on as much as I could and, when I saw it dipping over the keeper, I ran away in the corner as chuffed as anything.
"If you go and score and you get beat it's a bit tough, but, when you go and score and you win, it makes it extra special.
"It was a great feeling."
Wood is hopeful that he and his team-mates can take the performance they produced in the final into their remaining league games as they bid to stave off relegation from the East of Scotland League Premier Division.
"I felt like we picked up a lot of second balls and, every time we got on the ball, we looked dangerous going forward," he continued.
"They reverted to long balls and we were picking up all the scraps and going forward. We looked dangerous.
"We said that the only thing that could've been better in the first half was going a wee bit more ahead than just the 2-0.
"I'm buzzing for the boys and the club.
"We put a lot of effort into it. You could tell at the end a few boys were pulling up with cramp and stuff like that, but I thought we thoroughly deserved it."
