PODIUM finishes and new personal bests came the way of Dunfermline Track and Field stars as they impressed at the recent East District Track and Field Championships.
Held in Grangemouth for under-13 to under-17 age groups, athletes with the club were at the forefront of many of the events that were contested.
In the under-13 age category, Poppy Buchanan was Dunfermline Track and Field's most successful competitor, picking up bronze medals in the 200 metres - in 31.22 seconds - and the javelin, after an 8.38m throw.
Those were also new personal bests, which she added to in the 100m, where she placed fifth.
There were also bronze gongs for Evanne Carson, in the shot put after a 4.70m throw, and for Finlay Gibson, who took third in the 100m with a new PB of 14.52.
Alfie Whyte was unfortunate to miss out on a medal after fourth, fifth and seventh-place finishes in the 800m, long jump and 200m respectively - all of which he achieved with PBs - whilst Emma Thompson, also with a new best, was fifth in the 800m, and Jaden Mackay and Millie Gordon, in the 800m, also picked up new PBs.
Some of Dunfermline's under-15 athletes, meanwhile, struck gold at the competition.
Caitlin Chalmers was successful in finishing first in the shot put, throwing a PB of 7.07m, and she added a silver medal with the high jump with a new best leap of 1.42m.
Riley Gardiner ran an excellent 200m to take gold in a 25.05 PB, whilst Lottie Thomas won a pair of silver medals in the 100m and 200m, in times of 13.57 and 27.41 respectively, the latter of which was a PB.
Luke Hamilton set a 4.49m PB on his way to long jump bronze, and ran another best of 41.10 seconds in the 300m, which saw him finish fifth.
Poppy Warner, in 2:28.92, ran a best in her 800m; Briony Argo and Lily Pritchard achieved likewise over the same distance; and Arabella Mitchell completed a season's best in the 200m.
There were other fine runs by Lucy Gibb, who finished seventh in the 1500m, and Pippa Rambaut, who made the final in both the 100m and 200m.
Medals were also gathered by under-17 athletes, which included a gold for Sophie Thomas in the 100m, with a time of 12.29.
Amy Jenkinson, with a PB of 1.52m, took silver in the high jump, before adding a bronze medal in the 300m hurdles in 49.17.
A club spokesperson congratulated their competing athletes, adding: "It was an excellent championship for the DTFC athletes.
"We had 19 athletes competing and, between them, they accumulated 26 PBs."
