ATHLETIC are set to give one lucky fan the opportunity to win back the cost of their season ticket.

Earlier this month, the club announced that briefs for the 2024/25 campaign had gone on sale, whilst also revealing that the number of home fans cheering them on at KDM Group East End Park was their highest average since 2005.

The backing for the team from the stands had been "fantastic" as James McPake's side consolidated their Championship status following their League One title win.

The layout of the division for next term has been confirmed, with matches against Fife derby rivals, Raith Rovers, set to be some of the standout fixtures following their Premiership play-off final defeat to Ross County on Sunday.

Fierce foes Falkirk, who won the third tier after an unbeaten league campaign, will resume hostilities with the Pars, whilst Hamilton Academical joined the Bairns in earning promotion, after winning the Championship play-off final against Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

It is set to be an intriguing campaign and existing season ticket holders - there were more than 3,000 in the last campaign - are being given the chance to win theirs back if they renew before June 8.

In addition, they have until Monday July 1 to keep their existing seat before they are released for general sale.

In launching their season ticket campaign, the Pars said the number of home fans, on average, inside the ground was at its highest in almost two decades, with a total of 97,993 spectators attending their 18 home league matches.

That gave them an average attendance of 5,444, which only champions Dundee United bettered, and the club are hopeful that their faithful followers will make their home ground a "fortress" for the season ahead.

"Your support is never taken for granted," they said.

"The numbers that continue to back us at home and on our travels is fantastic. So much so that last year saw our largest average home attendance since 2005.

"On the pitch, the much discussed injuries situation disrupted large parts of the season, but when at our best we saw we could match anyone in the division.

"Our message, ‘It’s You‘, puts our outstanding supporters at the front of what’s ahead. With your backing we hope to continue that forward push and help turn KDM Group East End Park into a fortress of colour and noise for season 2024/2025."
