SCOTLAND'S footballers will be hoping to hit the net in little more than a week's time when they kick off Euro 2024 - and fans can hit the bar whilst roaring them on at East End.

Dunfermline City Fan Zone has been granted an alcohol licence from Fife Council for its 10-day run of events that includes showing each of the national team's group stage matches on big screens.

Steve Clarke's side take on hosts Germany on Friday June 14 before facing Switzerland on Wednesday June 19 and Hungary on Sunday June 23.

Around half of the 3,000 available tickets at Dunfermline City Fan Zone for the Scots' first game, which opens the competition in Munich, have been snapped up and, as the Tartan Army get set to enjoy Bavaria's world famous 'bierkellers', those taking their seats in the Norrie McCathie Stand will be able to watch on with a pint.

Throughout the duration of the fan zone, three bars, in partnership with Belhaven, will operate from the concourse of the stand, including a full draught bar, with 19 taps, as well as an extensive range of ciders, wines, prosecco, spirits and cocktails, as well as alcohol free alternatives.

Organisers said that they have "benchmarked our drink prices against local pubs and bars in the city", with the goal of providing a "transparent, accessible and good value proposition for everyone attending the fan zone".

Those attending the fan zone can watch Scotland's matches on two 28 square metre, festival-style LED screens that will be on either side of the pitch in front of the Norrie McCathie Stand.

There will be staging in the middle to host live acts - Definitely Oasis and Fools Gold are scheduled to perform before the Germany and Hungary matches respectively - interviews, DJs and other forms of entertainment.

There will be a dedicated family section, food trucks and stalls, other activities and a children's fan zone in the concourse, including face painting, PlayStation, Xbox, table football and more.

In addition to showing the football, other events will be held throughout the 10 day run, including a movie night.

That event, on Friday June 21, is free and more than 600 tickets have already been claimed.

A family friendly movie will be shown ahead of the main feature, the 2024 release 'The Beautiful Game', which stars Bill Nighy and is inspired by the true story of the Homeless World Cup, which Scotland's team will compete in this September.

Those attending events at the Dunfermline City Fan Zone can do so for free courtesy of Stagecoach.
