KIDS at Aberdour Shinty Club got their chance to show what they were made of during a charity tournament over the weekend.
The club headed west to Fort William for the Fraser MacPhee Primary Schools Shinty Tournament.
The primary 4/5 team almost completed a clean sweep, winning three of their four games, but coming up short against a strong Kingussie side.
The club got into the semi finals of the tournament, losing 2-0 to Hilton to halt their progression to the final.
Lisa McColl, coach for Aberdour Shinty Club, said: “It’s a really good event.
“A family friendly event, they put it on every year and the proceeds go to charity.
“We took a team and a half with some extras with us and some of our players went to play for another team which was good as it meant everyone got plenty of game time.
“Getting to the semi-final was a great achievement and to be up there competing with teams mostly from the north or from the west is really good.”
The Fraser MacPhee tournament is held each year by the MacPhee family, with all proceeds raised going towards charity.
Half of the team played with kids from the Inverlochy team, in a joint group, making it to the semi final but unfortunately losing out to Alvie.
Lisa added: “The kids loved the great skills competition and speed hitting competition.
“Murdo in primary 3 recorded the fastest hit at 90 miles per hour. All in all, it was a great day. Fantastic set up, hospitality and family feel.
“Thank you to the MacPhee family and all the helpers for a fantastic tournament.”
