KELTY HEARTS will go on their travels to open their William Hill SPFL League One campaign after their fixtures were released.

Michael Tidser's team will kick off their third successive term in the division on August 3 when they head north to tackle Montrose.

It will be the second season in a row that the 'Maroon Machine' have visited Links Park on the opening day, after they visited Stewart Petrie's side last August and emerged with a 2-0 victory.

A week later, last season's League Two title winners, Stenhousemuir, will be Kelty's first opponents at New Central Park, after which they go to Arbroath - relegated from the Championship - on August 17.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle, who have also dropped down from the second tier, then travel south to Kelty on August 24.

The Highlanders, managed by Duncan Ferguson, had controversially agreed to use New Central Park as a training base for the upcoming season, a move which led to an outcry from their supporters.

Earlier this month, they announced that they had pulled out of the agreement, after which officials at Kelty said they had not been notified that the plan was off.

Following the Inverness clash, Tidser's men go to Dumbarton - who joined Stenny in being promoted after winning the play-offs - before hosting Cove Rangers on September 14.

An away tie at Alloa Athletic, a home fixture with Annan Athletic, and a trip to Queen of the South round off Kelty's opening quarter of the season.

Their first-ever visit to Inverness takes place on November 2, whilst their festive schedule opens with a visit by Queen of the South four days before Christmas, followed by a trip to Dumbarton a week later.

Kelty open 2025 with a second away day at Montrose, on January 4, whilst the season ends with a home game against Alloa on Saturday May 3.
