SWAPPING West Fife for South East London is a move that Deniz Mehmet believes will take time for Josh Edwards to adapt to.
But the 31-year-old goalkeeper is confident that his former Pars pal will enjoy the bright lights of England's capital - and be success at a club he has experience of.
Last month Edwards, 24, ended speculation over his future - and a five-year spell with Athletic - when he swapped black and white stripes for the red of Charlton Athletic.
Nathan Jones' English Football League (EFL) League One outfit paid an undisclosed fee, thought to be almost six figures, to lure him away from KDM Group East End Park.

He has followed in the footsteps of former Dunfermline captain, coach and head of academy, Greg Shields, who moved to the Addicks in 1999, when they won promotion back to the Premier League immediately after relegation.
Whilst their current position is a far cry from those heady days, Mehmet, who had a spell with Charlton as a youth, said Edwards has picked a good club to move to - even if he may need time to get used to his new surroundings.
"I was at Charlton when I was younger and I know the Sparrows Lane training ground. It is a nice set up there," he commented.
"It is a good club, definitely, and I’m sure that he will do well there.
"There is a difference in London. Up here it is a bit of a different lifestyle. I feel it going back home to see family and friends. Last week, while down there, I was saying 'get me back up to Scotland'.
"It is very busy down there, everyone is in a rush. It will take Josh a little bit of time to adapt but I’m sure that he will do.
"He has all the physical attributes that we all knew he has anyway. He is fit, he is strong, he is fast. Take that down there and it will definitely be something that will help him and be an advantage down there for him."
Mehmet, who was born in London, revealed that he also spent time with Arsenal, Manchester United and West Ham United as a youngster before beginning his professional career.

"I started at Arsenal. I was there for five years and went to Charlton when I was 12 years old," he explained.
"I was there for a little bit of time, it was good. I moved on to Manchester United, West Ham and then to Turkey (where he played for Kayserispor). I was well travelled at a young age to be honest - it definitely helped as an adult to move about and go different places. I’m used to doing that side of things.
"I enjoyed my time at Charlton without a shadow of a doubt, but I don’t think you can really turn down an opportunity to go to Man United when that comes. I was very young of course, but I enjoyed my time there.
"The academy is completely different from what Josh is doing but the fundamentals of the club are all there, how they are and the set up at the club is all good. I’m sure he will enjoy it down there as well.
"He is going to look out for us and obviously we are going to look out for him."
