ABERDOUR Shinty Club's first team enjoyed a "good win that's been coming for a while" on Saturday with a fine success at Kyles Athletic seconds.
The West Fifers made the trip to Argyll in Mowi South Division One and returned home with their third league victory of the campaign.
With two draws from their previous two outings, 'Dour were without a win in eight games, across all competitions, since picking up maximum points in the reverse fixture in March.
Logan Adams gave Lisa MacColl's team the lead in the 35th minute of the match, before second half efforts from Ciaran Burns, with his first senior league goal, in the 65th minute, and Angus Thorburn, in the final moments, secured an excellent win.
The club's Facebook page noted: "A good win that's been coming for a while with a squad showing great promise.
"The movement and link-up play has been evident for the last month or so, with us dominating games, but just lacking the confidence, composure and experience to find the net.
"Last week, the tide started to turn with a dominant performance over Kilmory, who would have been delighted to salvage a point from the game, latching onto the only defensive error.
"Today saw us play in the same fashion but convert the play into good shots on target."
Aberdour are fourth in the table with six points, eight behind leaders Lochside Rovers, and are scheduled to travel to Lochgilphead on Saturday to face Kilmory, with a 2.30pm start.
On Sunday, the club's women's team were in WCA (Women's Camanachd Association) National Division action against Badenoch, but were comfortably defeated by the league leaders.
The visitors, who have won 11 and lost just one of their 12 games so far, netted 17 goals without reply as they lead the way by a point from second-top Skye, with Aberdour eighth in the table.
This Sunday, they are due to travel to Kinlochshiel, with the match beginning at midday.
Meanwhile, the club set to run a free summer camp for P1-S2 school pupils next month.
Taking place on Monday August 19, a girls-only session will take place from 10.30am-12.30pm, with a mixed camp running from 12.30-2.30pm.
Food and drink will be provided and for more details, and how to sign up, visit Aberdour Shinty Club's Facebook page.
