ATHLETIC have rejected a transfer bid for one of their star players and are running the rule over two trialists.

Press Sport understands that the club have kicked out an offer, which is thought to be from English Football League (EFL) Crawley Town, for Ewan Otoo.

The 21-year-old signed a three-year contract with Dunfermline last summer after completing a permanent move from Celtic, following a successful loan spell during their 2022/23 League One title-winning campaign.

Otoo made 37 appearances in all competitions for the club last season, and picked up the Joe Nelson Young Player of the Year trophy at their awards ceremony.

Dunfermline Press:

We understand that he has been the subject of a five-figure bid, which has been viewed as deirsory by the Pars, but it has not been entertained.

News of interest in Otoo comes as James McPake prepares to hold talks with two trialists that he has been taking a look at throughout pre-season.

Left-back Adam Supyk and goalkeeper Giosue Bellagambi have been training with the club, and have featured in their friendly matches with East Fife, Cove Rangers, St Mirren and Dundee.

Supyk, 20, featured for his native New Zealand at last year's FIFA under-20s World Cup, whilst Bellagambi, 22, was released by Huddersfield Town at the end of last season.

Speaking following last night's friendly with Dundee, which the Pars lost 2-0, McPake said: "To be fair I thought they did well both of them.

"Adam is showing that he is really good on that left hand side, and it has been tough for Gio, because Den obviously wants preparation playing every minute. When he is your number one you try and get as much into him as possible. The plan was always to get him off tonight and I thought Gio did well when he went on as well.

"We will have a discussion later on tonight and tomorrow regarding those two. Adam has certainly shown quite a lot, we saw the cross for (Lewis) McCann (to score) up at Cove, but just the way he plays in the pitch.

"He has trained every day, he has come a long way to train and he has shown up well."
