DUNFERMLINE ATHLETIC'S women's football team will play under a rebranded name for the upcoming 2024/25 season.

For the Scottish Women's Football League (SWFL) East campaign, they have changed their name to Dunfermline Athletic Women's FC, which they believe will provide "better alignment" with their aims.

The club said: "From formation as Hawkcraig United LFC In 1999, to the more recent joining with Dunfermline Girls, and subsequent return to senior women’s football in 2022, DALFC (Dunfermline Athletic Ladies FC) have strived to provide an environment to promote the successful development of girls and women’s players within south Fife and beyond.

"To support the continuously evolving offering being delivered at senior level, we are pleased to be performing at Dunfermline Athletic Women’s FC (DAWFC) in this years SWFL East competition."

The team's manager, Charles Dignan, commented “The re-branding our senior team to DAWFC provides better alignment with what we are aiming to deliver in terms of women’s football here at Dunfermline Athletic.

"Whilst we continue to focus on on-field matters, off-field we continue to evolve what, and how, we can deliver support and development to talented players.

"The continued support of The Pars Foundation, our sponsors, and the recent appointment of Kev Candy as head of performance, will assist us in these and other developing initiatives."
