ABERDOUR Shinty Club saw their final home match of the Mowi South Division One campaign end in defeat on Saturday.
The Silver Sands outfit's first team hosted league leaders Lochside Rovers in their penultimate fixture of the season, but were unable to prevent the visitors taking home the points.
Aberdour had lost the reverse fixture 3-1 in Oban back in March, and Lochside gained the early initiative when Jordan Kerr opened the scoring after eight minutes.
He quickly doubled his tally before Ruairidh Buchanan made it 3-0 with a quarter-of-an-hour played.
Lochside, who have won eight and lost only one of their nine fixtures played, wrapped up their success with a fourth goal from Ross Campbell on the half hour mark.
At the beginning of the season, club founder and head coach, Lisa MacColl, said that the campaign would be a learning experience for 'Dour's young side, and they have collected three wins and two draws from their 11 games played.
They are scheduled to conclude their fixtures at Glasgow Mid Argyll on Saturday, where throw-up at Peterson Park, Yoker, is at 2pm.
Aberdour's second team, who are competing in Mowi South Division Two, were not in action at the weekend and have two matches of their league season still to play.
Their penultimate fixture will see them host Tayforth at Silver Sands, before finishing off with another home game, against Inveraray seconds.
On Sunday, Aberdour's ladies team return to WCA (Women's Camanachd Association) National Division action when they travel to Lochgilphead to play Dunadd, where throw-up is at midday.
Meanwhile, three of Aberdour's brightest prospects recently took part in a national player performance camp.
Ciaràn Burns, Tom Shenfield and Logan Adam attended the event, at Strathallan School in Perthshire, between July 14-18.
A total of 63 players aged between 14-17, from 20 clubs across the country, attended the 2024 CT Accountants Advisors National Player Performance Camp, having been nominated by their youth or senior side.
The Aberdour trio received specialist training from Camanachd Association coaches based around key skills, techniques and tactics, with the camp designed to also help the players with physical and psychological aspects of the game.
Competitive six and 10-a-side tournaments enabled them to put what they'd learned into practice, with camp organiser, and east region regional development officer, Alaina MacLennan, commenting: "The National Performance camp continues to go from strength to strength and is an important part in the youth shinty player pathway.
"The standard of players this year was very high and all players demonstrated a great willingness to learn and develop throughout the camp.
"The players were a credit to themselves and their clubs."
The club are also hosting taster sessions for kids, between 4.15-6pm, tomorrow (Friday) during the Aberdour Festival.
Youngsters aged between 4-6 can try out the sport at their Silver Sands pitch from 4.15-5pm, with sessions for those aged 7-9 and 10-13 taking place between 5-6pm.
Tickets for the sessions can be bought at The Purple Shop on Main Street.
