CLASSIC cars that were once driven by a Scottish motorsport legend travelled across the Queensferry Crossing on their way to one of Knockhill Racing Circuit's biggest annual events.
The Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), in which Dunfermline-based Ronan Pearson will be competing, has made its way to the iconic West Fife venue for rounds 19, 20 and 21 of the competition this weekend.
Practice and qualifying sessions take place today (Saturday) before race day tomorrow (Sunday), with both days supported by a host of support events, including the Vertu Motors Mini Challenge, featuring Dunfermline-based Hannah Chapman.
It promises to be an action-packed and exciting race weekend for motor racing fans, and the 2024 BTCC stop at Knockhill comes during the circuit's 50th anniversary year.
In addition to those celebrations, venue bosses also decided to mark 60 years since the Forth Road Bridge opened, and since the late Jim Clark won the British Saloon Car Championship, in style.
Fifer Clark, a two-time Formula One champion, won his British title in a Lotus Cortina and, this weekend, Knockhill are marking that achievement with a parade of six of his competition cars both today and tomorrow.
Yesterday, three-time British Touring Car champion, Gordon Shedden, led a parade across the Queensferry Crossing in an 2024 Alpine A110, whilst Clark's cars from 1964 followed.
Thousands of fans are expected to attend during both days of the BTCC, which will put 20 of the best drivers against each other on Knockhill's spectacular circuit.
As well as top class motor racing action, one lucky fan heading to the venue will also have the chance to win a passenger ride in a £3 million GMA T50 car, driven by Shedden, in aid of Sir Jackie Stewart's 'Race Against Dementia' charity.
Tickets can be bought online at www.knockhill.com, or purchased on the gate.
