Dan Wagner, team leader with the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team, said: "The championships represent a crucial stepping stone for young athletes on their journey to the pinnacle of the sport.

"This competition not only offers invaluable international experience but also serves as a vital part of their development pathway."

Two years ago, Rebecca, who also represents Woodford Green Essex Ladies and the University of New Mexico, became a European champion with Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

She took part in the European Under-18 Athletics Championships and was selected to take part in the women's medley relay, which she and her team-mates won in what was a championship record time.

The World Athletics Under-20 Championships run from Tuesday August 27 to Saturday August 31.
