DUNFERMLINE Water Polo Club star Zara Christie has helped Great Britain have the chance of reaching the quarter-finals at the Under-19 Women's European Water Polo Championships.
The talented player, who also swims with Dunfermline Amateur Swimming Club, is the only Scot in the squad for the tournament, which began on Saturday in the Croatian capital, Zagreb.
They were targeting a top two finish in Group D, which would see them progress to the latter stages, and they achieved it to set up a clash with the Netherlands last night (Wednesday) for a place in the last eight.
After losing their opening to match to Germany on penalties, GB powered past Bulgaria in their second match by a 32-6 scoreline, before battling to a 13-8 success over Malta.
