PARS boss James McPake is "still speaking to a couple of players" and hopes there will be further additions to his squad.
In the past week, Dunfermline have signed Celtic goalkeeper, Tobi Oluwayemi, and Birmingham City defender, Tommy Fogarty, on season-long loan deals, as well as former Morton and Stirling Albion midfielder, Josh Cooper.
Cooper made a positive impression from the bench during Saturday's defeat at Hamilton Academical, while all three played for the reserves against Queen's Park on Tuesday.
A trialist - thought to be former Motherwell midfielder, Craig Clay - also played and scored in the 2-0 win.
McPake, who also revealed midfielder, Matty Todd, is "two or three weeks away" from a return, is pleased that his pool is looking healthier going into this weekend's clash with table-toppers Ayr United.
He told Press Sport: "We are still speaking to a couple of players at the minute and we are hopeful.
"Certainly, when this window shuts on Friday, obviously that's any business done from England or further afield.
"Then you've got that extra month which, again, I've been on record, I'm not a huge fan of because I think a lot of teams hold on to their players right to the very end.
"We'll see what happens this week, but we're certainly hopeful there'll be more additions to the squad.
"In terms of the squad, I think it's looking a lot healthier.
"Josh Cooper came in and made an impact on Saturday, then got some minutes on Tuesday. Tobi got 90 minutes as well. Tom did train on the Friday, but we couldn't get the international clearance done for Saturday's game.
"All three of them have got another week's training and some minutes under their belt for this weekend, and then the ones that didn't play got some valuable minutes as well, along with the young ones.
"I thought Sam Young was excellent when he came on, and he was excellent again for the reserves, so he's one that's chasing down a place in the team.
"Matthew's only two or three weeks away now as well. He's working really hard, so that's good."
