PARS new boy Dapo Mebude has said he is "ready to go" and pay back the "trust" shown in him by his new manager.

The 23-year-old, who has been training with the club in recent weeks, put pen to paper on a one-year deal yesterday evening after Press Sport had revealed talks between both parties were ongoing.

Former Rangers and Scotland under-21 attacker Mebude, who has been a free agent since leaving Belgian side KV Oostende in the summer, featured in a reserve match against Falkirk last week, scoring once and providing an assist in a 3-0 win.

He could now feature in James McPake's squad for Saturday's Championship visit to Airdrieonians, and believes he and his new boss are on the same wavelength.

"The gaffer's just highlighted my qualities that he thinks I've got," Mebude told .

"He's told me he just wants me to be myself, be free, be confident, and everything he said to me aligns with what I want to do as a player.

Dunfermline Press:

"He's put quite a lot of trust into me, so I feel ready to go, I feel good.

"I think I'm exciting. I think I sometimes like to play on the edge of it, and I like to just try and create for my team, whether that's goals or assists, or good performances.

"I like to work hard so I'll just give 100 per cent for the club, my team-mates and the gaffer."

Mebude, who has represented Scotland at all youth levels up to under-21, was welcomed to the club by a few familiar faces.

"I know Hammy, Chris Hamilton. I played with him at youth level with Scotland," he added.

"I know Kane Ritchie-Hosler, then I've played against (Ewan) Otoo, and I've played against Tobi (Oluwayemi).

"To be fair, I wasn't really close with anyone here apart from Kane, so it was a case of getting to know everyone, but it was quite easy, as I said, to get to know everyone."
