A SHORT trip down the road to Dunfermline won't mean a change in approach from Kelty Hearts as their boss believes they are "good enough" to cause their neighbours big problems.

The League One leaders go to KDM Group East End Park to play the Pars, currently second bottom of the Championship, in the fourth round of the SPFL Trust Trophy on Saturday.

And player / manager Michael Tidser said they won't change the way they play as, like one of the country's top gaffers, he will stick to his beliefs regardless of the opposition.

Last midweek, Celtic boss, Brendan Rodgers, said his team "play our way", and would not revert to a defensive style on the back of their 7-1 humbling by Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

Tidser, who had been linked with AFC Fylde, who have subsequently appointed former Sunderland and England forward, Kevin Phillips, as their new head coach, referenced that, and likened it to his own thoughts on how he'll approach the tie.

"It's funny because I saw Brendan Rodgers saying it during the week to the press, and being a Celtic fan myself, a lot of Celtic fans were moaning about how they set up in Dortmund, obviously taking a doing, but I'm in the exact same boat," he said.

"I feel that, of course, there are times where you need to just tweak a wee thing here and there, but, fundamentally, if that's the way you play, that's the way you play.

"If I then go in to my players and say, we're going to sit in a 4-5-1, and we're going to hit it into channels every time we get it, then everything I'm saying is bluffing them.

"What I've built, and what they're used to, that's the way we play. I genuinely believe they're good enough to go and put in a performance on Saturday.

"It's down to them now, and myself included, to keep doing what we're doing because it's getting us results. There's reason behind it.

"I've said this before and I'll say it in 10 years time - I'll never really change the way I play. Yes, you can adapt and tweak wee things here and there, but the way I play is to try and dominate the ball.

"When we played Hibs (in the Premier Sports Cup), they dominated the ball for large spells, but that's the other side of the game where the lads learned a lot about themselves, in terms of that defensive discipline, shape, spaces and closing gaps.

"Let's be honest, Hibs are a far better team than us, with far better players, but, on the day, it just shows that if you do that other side of it, you can pick up a positive result, which we managed to do that day.

"That's the mindset we'll be going into Saturday with but, again, I'm under no illusions, they're a good side.

"There's no doubt about it. They can hurt you with the players they've got, so our boys need to be bang at it, and we'll see how we get on on the day."
