ATHLETIC need to find the "final pass" or that "last bit when we get into goalscoring areas" when they cross the Kincardine Bridge on Saturday.
That's the view of manager, James McPake, who takes his side to face fierce rivals Falkirk having "done enough to win a couple of games" in their home draw with Greenock Morton.
Dunfermline, who are unbeaten in their last six visits at the home of the Bairns, go into the game seeking just a second win in 10 Championship encounters.
They are second bottom of the table, having scored just five goals, whilst John McGlynn's high-flyers, who won at KDM Group East End Park in August, are top, hitting the net 17 times in 10 outings.
Speaking to Press Sport this week, McPake, who has a fully-fit squad to choose from, explained: "We want to take that performance (against Morton) and add to it by finding that last pass, or that last bit when we get into goalscoring areas.
"I've seen the game back a couple of times now. We done enough to win a couple of games in that with chances created but, ultimately, you've got to put those chances away, so that's the big thing for us.
"We need to put those chances away, but look, we know Falkirk are a good team as well, we know they'll test us, so defensively we need to be resolute.
"The structure of the team needs to be good, like it was on Saturday, because Morton have caused teams a lot of problems as well.
"Falkirk are a good team, they're a very attacking team, and they can hurt you at any point, so without the ball we need to be good. But, when we get into our own goalscoring opportunities, or create our chances, then we need to be a bit better than we were on Saturday."
Dunfermline played Dundee in a reserve match on Tuesday and fielded a strong side, with Deniz Mehmet, Kyle Benedictus, Kieran Ngwenya, Sam Fisher, Josh Cooper, David Wotherspoon and Taylor Sutherland amongst those given game time.
Lewis McCann, who hasn't featured since the home loss to Queen's Park at the end of September, is fit for a return to the squad after recovering from a calf problem, whilst new signing Dapo Mebude, who was taken off with a gash on his shin in the recent SPFL Trust Trophy tie with Kelty Hearts, is also set to be available.
"Obviously, when you've got more of your senior players back, or your training group is bigger, then training becomes that bit better, and that's been the case," McPake continued.
"For any manager, I think it's rare that your squad is fully fit a lot of the time.
"I believe it's strong with the additions of Craig Clay, Dapo Mebude, the latest two obviously in particular, and Josh Cooper a bit before them.
"Then you add Matty Todd, Kyle Benedictus, and I know Ngwenya, it wasn't too long he was out for, but even with the spell he had out, with them all back as well, it's certainly positive, that's for sure."
