DUNFERMLINE will be bidding to extend their unbeaten run at the home of rivals Falkirk on Saturday but records aren't at the forefront of their manager's mind.

As far as James McPake is concerned, a positive performance from his players is what he's looking for - and he hopes that that will help extend the number of trips made across the Kincardine Bridge without suffering defeat.

The Pars, who are second bottom of the Championship with just one win from their opening nine games, will take on a Bairns side who are top, and 17 points better off, and who have not lost a league game on their own pitch since April 2023.

However, Athletic have not been beaten in any of their last six visits to the Falkirk Stadium, winning four of them.

Dunfermline Press:

"Myself and the fans will be desperate to build on that and keep that record going but, equally, Raith came to us this season, we had a terrible record (having lost five Fife derbies in a row, before winning 2-0 last month), and everybody was talking to me before that game about a terrible record," McPake said.

"The records don't matter to me in terms of what's in front of Saturday. Yeah, at ten to five, I hope that record's still intact, but what really matters to me is the performance and the result, and that's what I'm building towards this week. I'm certainly not looking at any records at the minute.

"Any win, regardless, but when you add a win against a rival, when the game is so big fans for the fans, then obviously that helps, but for myself, for the players, we're going down there to get a positive performance and come away with a positive result.

"Hopefully that's all three points, but John (McGlynn) and his team will be looking for the same."
