ROSYTH SHARKS suffered their first home defeat of the season on Saturday as Stirling County third XV emerged victorious at Harley Street.

The away side maintained their 100 per cent start to the Caledonia Midlands Region League, Division Three campaign by completing an 81-17 success, their fifth win from five outings.

The two teams were evently matched through the opening 30 minutes of the game, but County pulled ahead after that, and never looked back.

They have dominated their matches with a fast, young squad, and Sharks, despite two tries from stand-in captain, Ryan Wallace, who also kicked two conversions and a penalty, and one from Ian Mulroy, were unable to prevent them from claiming an emphatic win.

The home side, for whom Alex Conyers was named man of the match, remain second in the table, but are now five points adrift of leaders, Kirkcaldy second XV, with head coach, Mark Love, noting: "The guys front up well in the first half, with us competing with a strong Stirling side."

Stirling are one place and three points behind Rosyth, with two games in hand, and Love's side are next in action at Alloa, on November 9, in the Caledonia Midlands Bowl competition.
